What Do You Do With An Idea?

Today we read a picture book called What Do You Do With An Idea and it was written by Kobi Yamada and illustrated by Mae Besom and I think this is a book for kids aged 4-7. This book is about a little boy who had an idea but he didn’t know what to do with it so he left it alone but it followed him. He was nervous what people would think about his idea so he acted like he never had an idea but he felt happier when it was around. The idea wanted food, wanted to play, it wanted a lot of attention and they became friends. The boy showed it to other people but he was afraid that they would laugh and they did, they said it was a waste of time and it would never become anything. The boy thought about it and almost gave up on his idea, he almost listened to them. But then he thought that it was his idea even if it was crazy so he worked with it, played with it, and most of all gave it his attention and his idea grew and grew and his love did too. The idea built an house, one that looks up at the stars where it could dream in peace. One day something amazing happened, the idea burst wings and took flight into the sky and it was apart of everything. I really loved this book because of what the moral is, the moral is to never give up on your dreams even if people don’t think it’s possible. I also really like the illustration of the egg with the crown because it resembles growth in an idea like an egg grows bigger. Overall, I liked the book What Do You Do With An Idea and think that the author and illustrated did a great job on creating a awesome picture.
